Steven started his professional cooking career in 1996 on the Gold Coast in a busy café in the Marina Mirage complex. Two years later he moved to Sydney to work in the 4 Star Parkroyal at Darling Harbour where he worked along side a team of experienced international chefs.

Upon completing his 4 year apprenticeship he then had a desire to work in one of Sydney’s best restaurants the 2 chef hat restaurant The Bathers Pavilion at Balmoral Beach.

He worked there for just over 12 months learning about the fine dining side of hospitality and what it took to reach a status of 2 hats and to have passionate providores supplying a restaurant of this calibre.

After Steven’s 3 and a half years in Sydney working with various nationalities it lured him to travel and work in Europe.

He started in London and worked in a variety of restaurants including Notting Hill Brasserie, Nicole Fahri’s restaurant (a high end fashion label in New Bond Street) and also his own business leasing a kitchen within a gastro pub.

After 3 and a half years in London it was over to Berlin, Germany where he worked for 3 years.

Steven worked in Berlin’s best Italian restaurant, Bocca Di Bacco and cooked for high profile and influential people including German politicians, movie stars like Tom Cruise, Bruce Willis, Kim Basinger and Owen Wilson to name just a few.

At Bocca Di Bacco they used the finest imported salami’s, cheeses direct from Italy. From there he worked in a small establishment, Restaurant Horváth where he worked along side previous Michelin Starred chef Wolfgang Müller, everything was made in-house and the menu changed on a weekly basis.

Since returning from overseas Steven has been doing some consultancy and casual work for restaurants.
